Life Legacy
Harry McKinley Owens, age 77 of Kennesaw, passed away, April 19, 2010. He was born March 2, 1933 in Tallapoosa, GA to the late Clarence and Marie Brown Owens. He was a Veteran of the US Army, worked for General Motors as an assembly line worker and had retired in 1994. He was a member of the Word of Faith Church.
Survivors are his wife Fannie Burke Owens of Kennesaw, daughters; Harriet Owens of Buffalo, NY, Cynthia Owens of Rochester, NY, Kathy Owens of Orlando, FL, Labridget Owens of Winter Garden, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Harry and Carrie Owens of Oconee, FL, step-children: Wazir and Khabira Sharif of Douglasville, GA, Patricia Lord, Rochester, NY, Alvin and Jing Moore of Winston, GA, Marlynn Simmons of Rochester, NY, Charlene and Bill Tisdale of Winston, GA; brother: Mickey Owens of LaBell, FL; sisters-in-law: Lessie Burke of Atlanta, GA, Helen & JC Sanders of Bainbridge, GA, and Rosa Burke of Bainbridge, GA; brother-in-law: Ernest Lee of Cincinnati, OH, 16 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, God Children; Joshua and Beverly Butler of Temple, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Charles Blackshear officiating. The repass will be held following the service here in the Chapel. Interment will follow in the West Georgia Memorial Park, Hwy 61, Carrollton, GA with military honors and Wazir Sharif, Alvin Moore, Bill Tisdale, Will Tisdale, Josh Butler and Harry Owens, serving as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
